The images and instructions below are for a typical setup and installation of the
Sawhelper Ultrafence for a Dewalt saw, the process for each individual saw is the same. Please check the
installation instructions to see how your saw model is different.
The Model B after initial installation, no aligning has been done, yet. The bolts
connecting the sub brackets to the saw base are tight, but the bolts holding the bracket to the sub brackets are loose.
Attach the coupler plate to the bracket and tighten the hand wheel securely. Tighten
the bolts holding the bracket to the sub bracket until you can move the fence up and down only with some effort. We
recommend that you use a dead blow hammer to nudge the coupler and bracket to the correct height first, and concern
yourself with the front to back alignment later.
Using a level, adjust the leg on your extension fence so that its height is level
with the saw base.
Raise the fence into position so that it is level with the saw base.
Having the bolts that hold the bracket to the sub brackets fairly tight will prevent
the coupler/bracket/fence assembly from slipping out of position after you get it level.
Although some fine adjustment may be necessary, the height of the fence should now be set.
Using a straight edge, align the front to back axis of the fence. Some may want the fence
set back a bit from the plane of the saw fence to compensate for curved or warped pieces of wood. Use the side to side slots
in the bracket to align the fence. The four bolts on the underside of the coupler may need to be loosened in order to adjust
the fence so it is parallel with the saw. Once everything is set up to your liking, tighten all bolts securely.
